FAQ

Did you know that 100 million Americans fail to see a dentist each year? At Furumoto Dentistry in Diamond Bar, we know your oral health is important. We aim to provide you with excellent care, painless dentistry, and the confidence to wear your smile. We want to help you seek knowledge about your teeth and our services, so here are a few of our frequently asked questions:

Q. How often should I see a dentist?

A. The American Dental Association recommends you visit a dentist at least twice per year, and we at Furumoto Dentistry agree! Maintaining regular dental visits is important for the longevity of your oral health.

Q. What should I expect during my appointment at Furumoto Dentistry?

A.The dentist or hygienist will first compile your medical and dental history. You will then be escorted to one of our comfortable examination rooms, where you can relax and watch television on the ceiling while the dentist cleans your teeth. We will examine your overall dental health and recommend X-rays if needed to rule out oral disease. Then we will complete an examination of your jaw and neck to rule out TMJ (temporomandibular) disorder. After we review any findings, we will discuss them with you. If a diagnosis is found, we will guide you through any questions and assess the best course of treatment. If such is necessary, we will either conduct treatment in our dental office or refer you to a specialist. When in Brea, Diamond Bar, or Chino Hills, your family dentist will provide consistently painless dentistry.

Q. What does "painless dentistry" mean?

A.Our concept of painless dentistry means we will ensure your entire experience in our office is free of stressors and as pain-free as possible. From a welcoming waiting room to comfortable amenities, your visits will be remarkable. Our staff is happy to fulfill your needs and attempt referral to the treatment that you are happiest with. Your visits to your family dentist should be pleasant and effortless.

Q. What if I have a dental emergency?

A.Please call our office in the event of an emergency. We will accommodate you as soon as possible during regular business hours. Outside of our hours, you can contact our office for the doctor's personal emergency number. We will use all means to make you comfortable and keep you healthy.

Q. Are payment plans available for my dental treatment at Furumoto Dentistry?

A.Yes, we accept many types of dental insurance. We offer a low-interest payment plan through companies such as Care Credit, and also accept most major credit cards. There are many different options for payment, so we will walk through them together and determine the best plan to fit your needs.

Q. Can the dentist whiten my teeth?

A.Yes! We offer two different options for teeth whitening. In the office, our cosmetic dentist will guide you through sessions of Zoom Bleaching, which will usually take two to three hours. The treatment is effortless, and you can relax in the office by reading or watching television. Our at-home option is customizable trays. In the office, we will make a custom mold of your teeth and create a tray for it. When at home, you can fill the tray with the recommended amount of bleaching gel. The custom mold will be worn a couple of hours each day and will fit seamlessly, as it is designed to accommodate your unique teeth.

To achieve whitening results, the ADA recommends you seek the professional advice of a dental professional. Store-bought methods of whitening are available, but won't be effective unless you have a dentist diagnose the cause of the teeth discoloration and work out treatment to prevent it from reoccurring.

Q. What if I have a gap, chipped tooth, or other imperfections?

A. Anyone who has misshapen teeth can benefit from our porcelain veneers. Veneers are permanently attached to the front of your individual teeth, correcting any gaps or discoloration, and boosting your natural smile. Both the porcelain veneers and the bonding used for them are color-corrected for your teeth for a seamless finish and will offer a permanent solution to any imperfections.

Everyone deserves a smile they can be proud of. Our team of general and cosmetic dentists want to do that for you, giving you the confidence and peace of mind that only the best oral health can provide. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us today or schedule an appointment.
